Natálie Hasilová Name of the thesis: The design of a children's furniture element The diploma thesis deals with the design of a multifunctional children's table with seating, which is intended for children of preschool age. In the first, theoretical part, the author deals with a historical overview of children's seating and table furniture, the development of children in preschool age, ergonomics, furniture safety, Czech and foreign market research and the materials used in the proposed product. The practical part is devoted to the development of the design from the initial sketches, contains visualizations and photos of the final product.

The thesis deals with the design and production of a furniture prototype for a preschool locker room. The furniture is designed to meet safety requirements for toddler's furniture, hygiene and ergonomics requirements for children. The theoretical part includes a description of preschool age, ergonomics, requirements for toddler's interior and furniture, requirements for storage furniture and a description of materials. The practical part contains research compiled from photographs of various preschool facilities in the Czech Republic. It contains a description of the selected preschool facility, including the defined space of the dressing room. It also involves own designs, visualizations and final product photos.

This thesis includes the view of child from history to present. It describes individual differences in furniture for child´s bedroom according to child development. Theoretical part consist of all aspects and rules, as is ergonomics and anthropometry, which display on final design. Furthermore, it deals with various impacts such is impacts on new-borns, whose immunity is very low. It also considers all safety aspects, which are important for child´s health and it protects children from injuries. Excepting other factors that affects child´s sleeping, this thesis deals also with the multiple pregnancy. Parents need to give twice that much of effort and at the same time give the same quality of development during multiple pregnancy. The second part is about designs of child´s cradles. These designs come from various inspirations on the same market. Designs are supported with sketches and 3D renders. You can also find there more specific design with material and technological process of production.

Návrh dětského pokoje pro děti v předškolním věku se zaměřením na přebalovací pult

The thesis is focused on a design from the nursery room for preschoolers focusing on the changing table. The first part is theoretical and focuses on findings from the literature, ergonomics, typology, material requirements, current trends and market situation with children's furniture. The second part is practical and focuses on a design from the nursery room and selected a piece of furniture (in this case: changing table), alternative solutions within the chosen layout, drafting visualizations and drawings. Furniture items, children's rooms are designed for preschoolers. The selection process is taken into account ergonomics, applicable standards, safety, health requirements and needs of a particular child.

Symbol ve formě nábytkového objektu

Bachelor thesis is focused on the use of the symbol in furniture design. The theoretical part is based on available sources of professional literature, discusses important requirements for furniture and describes issues of the symbol. In the theoretical part is specified and described a actual symbol (wolf), type of furniture object (seating element) and target group of users (pre-school children). This includes competitive market survey focused on described issues. The practical part consist of a design of a furniture object. Presentation of the design is in form of visualization, photographic documentation and a prototype in 1:1 scale.

The goal of this thesis is a design of a crib. Thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part discusses sleeping habits of children, sleep cycle itself and trends in child care. Furthermore, the evolution of a child’s bed from ancient times to present is described. Theoretical part also defines requirements for children furniture related to baby’s sleep as well as its movements inside the crib. Practical part is focused on design and construction of crib. Design process is described with sketches and 3D visualizations. Thesis resulted in 3D visualization and 1:1 prototype. Moreover, the work contains description of used materials, technology and construction.

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of children's interiors and contains a brief describtion of a historical evolution of children´s rooms. The work aims to describe safety, ergonomic and hygiene rules of children´s furniture and interiors in all stages of child development. It introduces a variety of options to properly project, design, furnish and equip children´s rooms. There is also mentioned supply of appropriate children´s furniture on the market in the Czech Republic and current trends in the World as well. The bachelor thesis contains my own design of a room for children with dwarfism based on a knowledge I gained during the studies, and of course on the information I have recieved from a family of a child with dwarfism.
